The African National Congress Youth League (ANCYL) has elected its new Top Six leadership at the 27th National Elective Conference in Mankweng. The process was largely uncontested, with the current slate receiving overwhelming support from branches nationwide.
Collen Malatji (32) was re-elected President, Francisco Dyantyi (31) as Deputy President, Tsakani Shiviti (35) as Secretary-General, Venus Blennies Magage (30) as Second Deputy Secretary-General, and Jacob Tau (35) as Treasurer-General.
Malatji urged youth to embrace their “revolutionary mission,” invoking the legacy of Anton Lembede, the league’s founding president.
President Cyril Ramaphosa, speaking at the conference, backed the league’s call to declare youth unemployment a national disaster and encouraged young leaders to drive growth in manufacturing, mining, and agriculture.
Several new members were also confirmed to the ANCYL National Executive Committee, including Ashley Malatji and Emmanuel Mongwe.
The conference, running until Wednesday, reflects broad consensus among provincial delegations and positions the league as a united force ahead of the ANC’s 2027 national elective conference.
